The road to treachery.

To understand the road to treachery, you really need a solid timeline.

I took a look at some of the key milestones to NZ’s road to signing away our sovereignty to the UN in the form of the UN Migration compact.

Sep 2016 – New Zealand (under National Govt) along with all member nations adopts the New York declaration for Refugees and Migrants, agreement expresses the political will of world leaders to protect the rights of refugees and migrants, to save lives and share responsibility for large movements on a global scale.

By adopting the New York Declaration, Member States are making bold commitments including:

1/ to start negotiations leading to an international conference and the adoption of a global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration in 2018,

2/ to develop guidelines on the treatment of migrants in vulnerable situations;

3/ to achieve a more equitable sharing of the burden and responsibility for hosting and supporting the world’s refugees by adopting a global compact on refugees in 2018.

The Secretary General also launched a new campaign called “Together Respect, Safety and Dignity for All” to “respond to rising xenophobia and turn fear into hope”. He urged “world leaders to join this

Sep 2018 – The “Road to Marrakech”(New York) a high-level event during the UN General Assembly to build momentum, among Member States and other stakeholders, towards the Intergovernmental Conference in Morocco in December.

July 2018 – UN Member States finalized the text for the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

Hungry, Australia announces they’ll withdraw from the UN migrant pact.

Oct 2018 – Austria Pulls out of the UN Migrant Pact.

Nov 2018 – Poland, Czech Republic and Israel announce they’ll withdraw from the agreement.

1st Dec 2018 – NZ Government won’t commit to pulling out of controversial UN migration agreement

3rd Dec 2018 – Donald Trump pulls US out of UN global compact on migration

4th Dec 2018 – National announces they would pull NZ out of UN migration pact because of its potential to restrict New Zealand’s ability to set its own migration and foreign policy, National Leader Simon Bridges says.

10/11th Dec 2018 – The Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration held in Marrakech, Morocco 10 /11 December 2018.

10th Dec 2018 – Government announces it will be seeking further advice before signing United Nations Global Compact on Migration.

However, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said a formal, official signing was not until December 17 and events taking place in Morocco were “purely ceremonial”.

11th Dec 2018 – Jacinda Ardern: UN global agreement won’t take away our sovereign rights

11th Dec 2018 – Brazil announces it will pull out of UN migration pact in January when new president Jair Bolsonaro takes office.

18th Dec 2018 – NZ to vote in favour of UN Migration Compact

22nd Dec 2018 – New Zealand First slams ’emotional debate’ over UN Migration Compact.

Regardless of the position our long standing allies Australia & the USA took towards signing this flawed agreement.

Winston Peters (a long time campaigner for tougher immigration) in his capacity as foreign minster, along with Helen Clark’s puppet & socialist prime minister Jacinda Arden, signed away NZ’s sovereign right to manage its own borders to the United Nations.
